An unbeatable argument against reliance on automatic translation

However advanced automatic translation may get, it is obvious that it will always require human revision, just like any other IA-based tool, so it will never be able to function on its own without huge risks. This revision may be straightforward or take considerable time, depending on factors such as the quality and the complexity of the source text, the terminology at stake, the function and the public of the target text, and unpredictability is not conductive to efficiency. This is why automatic translation can be used at best as one of the many tools in a professional linguist’s toolbox, in no way as a replacement.
